Summer Dining Alfresco

Hello, dear friends!
How is your summer going? It has been a beautiful summer so far, and I have been enjoying the lovely warm days. I can't believe it is August already, and it's almost back to school time. Just got back from our vacation in Cape Cod, and it seems like summer has gone by so quickly!
Today, I thought I will share with you some pictures of a summer tablescape :)

Dining alfresco under the apple trees is a wonderful way to enjoy the balmy days of summer:

A pot of red impatiens sits inside a white lantern and is hung from the branches with a wired burlap ribbon:

Elements of a summer tablescape:

Flavored water in blue mason jars to quench your thirst on a hot summer day:

Ice cubes made with strawberries and blueberries or any other fruit of your choice not only add flavor to the water, but look so colorful as well:

Elements of a casual place setting:
Two layers of dinner napkins in red and white:

I found these adorable berry napkin rings in an outlet store called Anne and Hope in Providence, Rhode Island. Don't they look so pretty with the red napkins?

A closer look of the place setting:

A navy blue and white striped dinner plate is topped with a smaller Crate and Barrel white salad plate. The blue and white striped dinner plate is from their Country Living Collection:

I love the nautical look of these adorable plates.
A rim shot of the plates:

A red soup bowl sits on top of the white salad plate:

Love the black coiled tip fork from Pier 1:

As centerpiece I inserted a pot of pretty blue lobelia inside a Coca Cola crate:

I love lobelia with its delicate and dainty blooms

Cute little blue ceramic birds added as accents

A galvanized bucket full of summer blossoms sits on a bench

Dining alfresco is another wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful days of summer:

Before I sign off today, I will leave you with a few pictures from our vacation at Cape Cod:

Spring Blooms and a New Chest in the Dining Room

Hello, dear friends!
I hope you are enjoying your weekend! Spring has finally arrived in our neck of the woods. Flowers are blooming, birds are chirping, and the sun is shining! And, I am having fun adding spring touches around my house.
Today, I thought I will share with you a new chest I found at Home Goods a couple weeks ago. I have been on the hunt for a small chest to store my ever-growing collection of dishes. It had to be small enough to fit in this little corner of my dining room, so when I happened upon this one at Home Goods, it was my lucky day! It came home with me and I've been having lots of fun playing with it ever since!

I love the distressed top, and the color of the chest fits quite beautifully with the rest of the decor in the dining room.

I love creating vignettes! And it has been so much fun playing with my new chest :)
I like bringing beautiful spring blooms from the garden to decorate and enjoy indoors.
The daffodils in my garden are finally in bloom!

A host of golden daffodils in blue mason jars always look beautiful when housed under a glass cloche!

A fleur-de-lis always makes pretty accents in any room decor.

A spring bird nest adds pretty color and texture to a vignette.

And a turned wood table lamp and shade from Target create wonderful height in the vignette.

A pretty corner of my dining room next to the window seat.

So, are you having fun playing with spring?
Thanks for stopping by! It is always a pleasure to have you visit me.
Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Until, next time!

Mason Jars and Me

I have a little crush on mason jars, you see!
So today, I thought I will share with you the many ways I have used them around my house over the years :)
Each time I see them, I simply fall in love with them all over again!
These jam jars look so adorable filled with flavored water:

A piece of burlap scrap and a sprig of fern adorn these cuties so prettily.

Wrapped in burlap, mason jar filled with red roses look beautiful as a centerpiece for a table.

I love these canning jars in all size and shape, but I have a special obsession with the blue ones.
They look wonderful in a tea setting when used as a vase filled with pink summer cosmos and geraniums.

The blue of the jar contrasts so prettily with the white table runner draped across the chair and the pink flowers.

They look magical in my mid-summer garden when used as a lantern.

The mason jar overflowing with white shasta daisies adds a touch of elegance to my coffee table.

I love how the blue mason jar stands outs in a neutral vignette with a coastal theme.

Chilled summer drinks served in tall mason jars make summer entertaining so very festive and fun!

Mason jars lined with red and blue bandanas make wonderful flatware holder for each individual guest for a 4th of July barbecue party.

A row of mason jars with pumpkin scented votive candle deck my autumn porch so beautifully.

They make pretty luminaries:

I love their ethereal beauty when they light up my evening porch.

Blue mason jars contrast so charmingly with the white flatware when used in a Christmas buffet.

Mason jars are so versatile! They can be used in a multitude of ways and add charm, elegance, and simplicity in every setting, vignette, and tablescape. I  love playing with them!
So, have you played with mason jars lately?
Thanks for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed your stay here! Come back and visit me soon! I love hearing from you!
Enjoy your weekend!
