Fields of Lavender

I love lavender and I had planted a cluster of them in my perennial border few years ago. A relatively easy plant to grow, it never fails to enthrall me with its beauty every summer. There are many ways to enjoy their beauty all year long.

Imagine walking through a field of purple lavender during the peak of lavender season. The vivid lavender blues and the air filled with heady scent of the glorious lavender will have you entranced!

I bought these petite clay pots (buy one get one free - 89cent each:

Gave them a white-wash look by dry-brushing some cream acrylic paint:

Decoupaged some Frenchy label from the The Graphics Fairy

It looked too white for my taste, so after sealing the pots, both inside and outside with couple coats of water-based sealer I applied an antiquing medium and removed most of it with a damp cloth... I repeated this process couple times until I was happy with the "look" I was after. After that I applied another coat of the sealer to prevent the antiquing medium from washing off.

Now these pots are ready for my beautiful lavenders and

rosemary!

I decoupaged some leftover burlap from my Patriotic Tablescape project, all around the top of the pots.

The luscious beauty of lavenders has me humming this nineteenth century ditty:

The Apple blossoms from my Spring Tea Party have turned into little green apples and fill up my wire rooster basket:

Well, the butter in the butter dish started melting in the afternoon sun for my French inspired tablescape( I had to remove it for my photo shoot..lol!)
