A Thanksgiving Breakfast Vignette

I apologize to my readers for being away from my blog for a couple of months. I have not been keeping that well for the last few months. Life has been quite chaotic, with trips to the  emergency room, doctor's visits, and running various tests. After waiting endlessly for various test reports, here I am today and thankful that I am doing so much better than I was few months back.
I have missed writing my blog and visiting all the other creative bloggers! I have a lot of catching up to do in the next weeks....
The holidays are just round the corner, and today I thought I will share my Thanksgiving vignette with my readers.

I love playing with different vignettes and organizing my kitchen. The kitchen is the heart of our home! These Ikea Fintorp wall organizer hooks and wire storage basket is a wonderful way to keep your kitchen neat and in working order.

The wire basket holding the oranges not only looks pretty but also serves as a reminder for my children to remember to eat fruits everyday.

I like the look of this rustic candle holder inside the blue mason jar

The red and white striped bowls holding the grapes are from Sur La Table and remind me so much of French grain sack.

A wire rooster makes a wonderful holder for eggs.

In keeping with the Thanksgiving theme for my breakfast tray, these ornamental corns make a nice addition to the vignette...

as well as the white baby boo pumpkin nestled among the plates and berries. It goes well with my Thanksgiving breakfast tray.

Thanks for stopping by today to take a peek at my Thanksgiving breakfast tray. It is always a pleasure to have you visit me.
Have a lovely week!

An Autumn Vignette

Hello, everybody! It's the beginning of another autumn week, and I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I have been  busy "falliying" my home lately :)

An autumnal home in color sketch.

I don't know about you, but for me the holiday season starts from October.

For the next three months, I can deck the halls and rooms in holiday colors and have so much fun with it!

From Halloween till Christmas, it's a celebration of seasons in my home:

It's the small touches that makes a house a home:

Sprigs of hydrangeas and twigs of burning bush and maple leaves from my yard grace a willow basket, a recent acquisition from Walmart.

I love creating vignettes in trays.

They are so versatile and make playing with different home accents so much fun:

A cute pumpkin from Home Goods adds a lovely accent

The ornamental fretwork on the pumpkin reminds me so much of cut-work lace.

It pairs beautifully with the orange ceramic pumpkin and acorn squash from my garden.

The trio of beige candles bring height and color to the vignette.

The candles are adorned with maple leaf tags from Jo-Ann craft store and tied in jute twines.

I added some sprigs of burning bush for added fall color and embellishments to the candles.

I love how I can bend the wire stems to create little curlicue :)

I love adding greenery to any vignette for color, contrast, and texture.

An array of pillows in autumnal hues bring instant color to any room decor

An antique stoneware crock pot overflowing with fern graces a corner of my great room.

Fall Luminaries

Fall is my favorite season! The crisp autumn air, the vibrant colors all around and the bountiful harvest make it a wonderful time of the year. This is the best time to celebrate mother nature's beauty! The bright blue skies, the colorful leaves, and the vivid changes all around is simply breathtaking:

To me it is also the unofficial start of the holiday season, with Halloween and  Thanksgiving just round the corner. It is the season for crafting, baking and feasting.
I am loving these paper bag luminaries:
No spring nor summer beauty hath such grace

As I have seen in one autumnal face.~ John Donne
Crafted from paper bags with a silhouette image from our favorite "Fairy"... these luminaries were so much fun to make. However, I will never leave these paper luminaries unattended with the candles burning inside. Using battery operated tea-lights instead is a better and safer option especially when used indoors.
Click HERE for the silhouette image:
I saved the image and did some editing in Microsoft Word to adjust the size of the image to fit the paper bag.
Next, I glued the image with Elmer's Glue to the inside center of the paper bag:
Made a few holes at the top with my handy-dandy hole puncher, weaved some black check ribbon, poured some sand into the paper bags to weigh them down and placed my votive holders inside:
They were easy, inexpensive, and so much fun! For now, they look beautiful on my dining room window seat. But I am thinking other possibilities... maybe  a group of them lining my driveway for Halloween or as a centerpiece for my dining table with different colored  chiffon ribbons.....hmmm....endless possibilities:

I love silhouette images and working with them. So my thanks to Karen, my fairy muse for making it so easy to find these elegant images:

"The falling leaves drift by my window
The falling leaves of red and gold......the days grow long and soon I'll hear old winter's song.... When autumn leaves start to fall..."
I wrapped a pair of silk autumn leaves around each votive holder and tied it with raffia:

The ambiance and mood created by these leaf-wrapped votive candles is so enchanting:

Happy Autumn everyone! I hope you liked peeking at my fall luminaries. Thanks for stopping by and for your sweet comments. Your loving thoughts always make me smile. Please, stop by and visit the links below as I party with these wonderfully creative ladies:
