Spring Cloches

Spring is nature's way of saying,
"Let's party!"~ Robin Williams
Spring is just around the corner, and I can't wait to get back in the garden! It is a beautiful, sunny day today! A perfect day to join the fun at Marty's Spring Cloche party.
 I'm so excited and looking forward to all the beautifully decorated cloches created by amazingly talented ladies.
A corner of our dining room has this alcove which serves as a beverage-bar center when we have company.

Up goes the "Rooster" picture found at Jo-Ann:
I don't like making holes in the walls, so Command strips to the rescue! They really make hanging pictures so easy! 
I just love this "Rooster" picture on French script:
The hand stamped rooster tag coordinates wonderfully with the picture on the wall.
The black and white check ribbon and the key along with the rooster tag nicely decorates the top of my wire cloche:
I love boxwoods! Here a pot of boxwood tied up with raffia sits inside the cloche:
A chalkboard sign and an olive boat with olives along with the wire cloche sit on one end of my bar top:

I love decorating with cloches! Everything looks so good under a cloche:
Even a jar of lemons:
Originally invented by the French to protect tender seedlings from frost, today cloches have gained popularity in interior design as a decorative element for displaying collections or as an accent: 

I added a few sprigs of rosemary and a chalkboard sign to the top of this glass cloche, to dress it up:

I love country French decor. This travertine bar top started out as this:


This is how it looks now:


The warm, vibrant, and inviting colors of country French appeals to me and makes everything look so summery:

Summer Vignettes

The Summer Cloche Party is finally here and I'm so excited to be part of it.  Marty at A Stroll Thru Life is our gracious hostess for this awesome summer party, and I can't wait to explore all the other creative cloches and get inspired! Thanks Marty for inviting us and hosting this wonderful party and letting us play with our cloches, jars and bottles:
 Living room coffee table is my blank canvas:
Wooden Leaf Trays make up the first layer of my vignette:
 Small jars filled with fresh lemon and lime cubes and a glass candle holder topped with a white-washed pot make my second layer. To view the tutorial for white-washed clay pots click HERE

   Cloche or dome-shaped jar terrariums are named after the Victorian styled hat called a cloche.


 
For more than a century, French farmers used glass domes to start seedlings in the garden, protecting them from the weather and insects until they were strong enough to stand on their own. Today, they are popular home accents and there are many variations of the typical glass cloche:
 
I printed out a fern graphic ("The Graphics Fairy") and made a tag with burlap and added a butterfly scrapbook accent:
  I found this cute lemonade bottle at my favorite T.J. Maxx for $5.99. I love how cute it looks dressed up with a fern:
 So refreshing and summery. Perfect for a hot summer afternoon:

  I love serving food and drinks in jelly jars for summer entertaining:
 Dressed up in ferns from my backyard and burlap scrap they look adorable. Don't you think? 
 
I love the fruit detail on these jelly jars... I got a dozen of these from Big Lots for $6:

I love decorating with apothecary jars and filling them with seasonal items.
Filled up with lemons, limes or floating candles these apothecary jars make a lovely summer vignette for my kitchen counter top:



 

I decoupaged this hydrangea graphic from the 
"The Graphics Fairy" on a burlap tag:


 
 A bag of jar fillers of acorns, limes and rattan balls from The Dollar Store add beautiful texture:
