Spring Tea

Welcome, spring!
It feels wonderful to "smell" spring in the air!
No more lake effect snow advisory.
No more icy roads and hazardous road conditions.
No more removing snow from rooftops!
Yes, it's that time of the year again, when we celebrate

Spring:

The weather is finally warming up. All the snow has melted, and I can finally get to see green grass in my yard. It feels wonderful to be puttering around in my backyard.
I have spring fever!

St Patrick's Day is just around the corner.
Trees are blooming again, and  birds are singing.
Everything in nature is green and lively once again!
That means it's time to celebrate the arrival of this new season!
Spring is in the air and I am celebrating with a cup of Irish breakfast tea.

Two of my my favorite black tea flavors:
Earl Grey and Irish breakfast tea.

The tea box is a pretty way to store the different variety of tea bags.

I love drinking tea!
Although, I love the aroma of good coffee, I prefer drinking tea!

Especially, in a delicate bone china tea cup

Love the scroll pattern of this Royal Chelsea bone china cup and saucer

Sugar cubes in a pretty little green bowl

For each petal on the shamrock
This brings a wish your way
Good health, good luck, and happiness
For today and every day.

An Irish Cuppa Tea

Hello, everyone!
March 17th is just round the corner!

So, today I am sharing a nice "Irish cuppa tea" with you in honor of St Patrick's Day, a favorite holiday from the land of the Emerald Isle.

I love Ireland, and someday I would love to visit this country steeped in tradition, mystical folklore, myths of fairies, and leprechauns dancing a jig.

A magical land of endless rolling hills and shadowy mists and moors.

The Emerald isle has a long love affair with the tradition of drinking tea.

It is one of the biggest tea consuming nations in the world per capita.

The national average is four cups per person per day!

Traditionally, tea in Ireland is served hot.

With milk and sugar

To celebrate green, I have pulled out my white dishes and green jadeite to set up my tea tray

I love vintage dishes! I love using them in tablescapes and vignettes and have so much fun playing with them.
The "Alice" jadeite saucer is one of my favorite patterns, I love it!
The embossed flowers on the plates and the scalloped edge design look so pretty, and the color itself is so beautiful.

This over-sized wicker tea cup was an impulse buy from Marshalls last year. I am so glad I picked it up because there are so many ways I can use it around the house as well as outdoors in summer.

For the candle, I just wrapped some lace and ribbon around it,

hung a paper tag with a St. Paddy graphic decoupaged on it, and...

sprinkled some glitter on it, reminding me of that elusive pot of gold!

I am all set to share a nice "Irish cuppa tea" with you, won't you join me?

Wishing everyone a Happy St. Patrick's Day!
May the luck of the Irish be with you :)

Also, I would like to thank you, my readers for your loving thoughts and comments on my Blue Willow Tablescape. I am humbled by your sweet words! And my heartfelt thanks to these dearest ladies for highlighting my Blue Willow Tablescape at their weekly link parties:

Thanks for your lovely visit! It is always a pleasure having you here!

Talking about " My Sunshine"

It has been a beautiful day today, especially after all that rain over the weekend!! Had to keep all my gardening plans on hold due to our recent storm.
It's so nice to see the sun shining... lifts my spirit so much and "makes me so happy"........have been enjoying all that glorious sunshine all day and managed to get most of my vegetable and flower beds ready for planting.... can't wait for Memorial Day, so I can get busy planting... my neighbor stopped by and we shared tea and talked about our common passion, "gardening," and how to keep those woodchucks out of our flower beds... they love gobbling up my garden in a hurry!!!!!!
I love listening to John Denver's songs and this song got stuck in my head today... kept humming it all day long.... I tried to capture some of that elusive sunshine, so here goes!!!!!

Sunshine on my shoulders makes me happy......

Sunshine on the water looks so lovely
If I had a day that I could give you
I'd give to you a day just like today...

If I had a wish that I could wish for you
I'd make a wish for sunshine for all the while!!!!!

I love seeing the first hint of spring green!!!

I love talking "garden " with my neighbor, she is an avid gardener who shares so many helpful gardening tips with me.....

Bringing a little bit of sunshine inside...

These leaf-patterned wooden trays, were a recent find from JoAnn:

I picked up the Blue Willow tea cups and sugar-creamer set while antiquing.
A little close-up on the adorable silver and mother-of-pearl tea spoon and Pietra Dura marble coaster set

Here is a little tid bit: Pietra Dura is an Italian word for inlaid stone in marble. Its an  ancient form of decorative art that first appeared in 16th century Rome, and later spread to Florence, Italy... the Taj Mahal is a magnificent example of Pietra Dura....

I have a fascination with lanterns and love collecting them... they are so versatile in setting up any mood I want to create..
I had enjoyed this bright and sunny day today and  visiting with my neighbor, but now I must bid adieu to the  sun as dusk approaches and the tea and muffins are gone!!!!
