French Country Bathroom

Hello, everybody!
Today, I thought I would share my guest bath with you. I love decorating my home with warm, inviting colors of French Country decor, and I try to incorporate it in various accents around my home:
There is no window in this small guest bath. The lack of natural light and the small size of the room have made taking pictures a real challenge!

The red and white shower curtain reminds me of red toile fabric and imparts a lighter and brighter feel in the room.

I love the ruffled hem at the bottom of the shower curtain:

I added tasseled tie-backs for the curtain:
A closer view of the tassel:
Both the shower curtain and the fingertip hand towel is from the Country Living Classic vintage Bath Collection.

I like the contrast between the shiny mercury glass soap holder and the color and texture of the towel. Brings instant cheer to an otherwise dark room:

I love mercury glass! So this particular soap holder from Target seemed like a perfect accent for my French Country bathroom.

On the other side of the granite counter top sits a wire basket filled with moss balls
A closer look of the wire basket:

The moss balls are made from sheet moss (from Jo-Ann) hot glued to styrofoam balls.

Both the bath vanity and granite counter top is purchased from Home Depot, when we remodeled the bathroom couple years ago:

I found these granite cabinet hardware from an online store, and they match the desert rose granite counter top perfectly:

The vanity mirror is also an online purchase, and the light fixture is from Lamp Plus

On the toilet top sits a basket of greenery and a candle wrapped in burlap:

The fleur-de-lis wall accent over the framed picture ties in well with other Frenchy accents in the room:

I found this fleur-de-lis iron wall accent at Hobby Lobby:

On the opposite wall of the vanity sink are couple of wall niches:

Clay jars and a mini topiary adorn these wall niches:

I found these clay jars in our local antique store:

There are several perforated holes inside these jars, and I am not sure what they were used for:

However, I love the shape and color of these jars, and they seem perfect for these wall niches in my French inspired bathroom:

The towel bar displays an array of fluffy towels

and brings color to a dark wall

I added some pizzazz to plain towels by sewing some ball fringe:

I love how the colors in the towel are reflected in the artwork on the wall:

Thank you for visiting! It is always a pleasure hearing from all you wonderful people. Also, I would like to thank these gracious hostesses for featuring my Autumn Foyer in their weekly parties.
