I don't know what it is about pumpkins that inspires us to decorate our homes with them!
Over the weekend, while walking around Pumpkinville surrounded with pumpkins and gourds, inspiration hits, and suddenly you have all the makings of a tabletop vignette. Does this ever happen to you?
Well, that's exactly what happened to me while strolling through a pumpkin patch :)
The color and texture of gourds and pumpkins make them ideal for autumnal vignettes:
Sitting atop these shiny mercury glass candle holders they make a pretty visual statement:
I like the contrast between the shiny mercury glass and the rough texture of the gourds
A cascade of gourds and pumpkins adorns my foyer table
The mirror in my entryway is accented with a pine cone wreath intermixed with sprigs of green hydrangea
A closer view of the mini pine cone wreath
The blue Dollar Store bottle tied in raffia with a fleur-de-lis tag makes a pretty holder for lavender
A row of cute baby boo pumpkins nestled in little clay pots painted with chalkboard paint
I embellished the pots with the enameled numerical tags found in the scrap booking section of Joann
I love adding different elements and see it all coming together to create a vignette.
Books covered in fleur-de-lis burlap make excellent risers
Baby boo pumpkin sitting in a mossy nest
The shine on the votive contrasts nicely with the chalkboard painted pot
Little pumpkins tied in grosgrain ribbons remind me of brown paper gift packages "tied up with strings''.......these are a few of my favorite things :)
The fleur-de-lis burlap is from Walmart for $3.97 a yard. One yard is sufficient to cover three to four books.
A tall cylindrical glass vase filled with pine cones and other natural vase fillers.
The glass vase holds maple branches from my yard and showcases the beautiful colors of autumn in all its glory
Fall is a wonderful time of the year to create beautiful vignettes in your home
And I am looking forward to a wonderful holiday season!
Thank you so much for stopping by! It is always a pleasure to hear from you and read your sweet notes.

The mercury glass candle holders with with the boo pumpkins nestled into a tiny bird nest is my favorite part. But I also love all of the beautiful blue glass. Hi Poppy,
ReplyDeletePumpkins do inspire me to want to decorate. Your decorating for the season is eloquent, I have to ask what is Mercury Glass?
I also love taking sprigs of grape vine from outside and bring them in for arrangements. I like your riser idea and Joanne is a great place to find little bits, I don't have a shop like that on the Island. Great dollar store find, love coloured glass. Enjoy
Hi lovely lady.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for your sweet comments on my Tablescape for Halloween. I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
