Spring Phlox and a Chalk-Painted Pedestal

Hello, dear friends!
Do you have any exciting plans for the weekend? I was planning on working in my garden and getting the raised beds ready for planting. But, mother nature has different plans. It's going to be a rainy, cold, and gloomy weekend for us with frost warning overnight. I was getting all excited about the spring-like weather we were getting lately and even visited the local nurseries. But working in the garden is now put on hold until the weather clears up.

I did pick up a few plants while at the nursery such as this pretty creeping phlox. I want to plant them in the front yard next to the ornamental grasses.

Until I can plant them outdoors, I am enjoying these pretties indoors.

Love how the purple phlox looks in this $5 galvanized bucket from Target.

I placed the bucket next to this column pedestal that I recently painted with chalk paint.

Love how the pedestal turned out in two different layers of chalk paint.

The pedestal serves as a table in different corners of my home.

A perfect surface to create impromptu vignettes on a rainy spring afternoon.

I love adding spring greens around my home after months of long and dreary winter.

So are you enjoying adding spring to your home decor?
Before I sign off today, I would like to say thank you to sweet, Maria Elena @ Our Home Away From Home  and the wonderful hostesses of Dishing It and Digging It Party for featuring my Spring Master Bath at their weekly linky party.
Thanks ladies for your kindness!
Stop by and say hello to them if you get a chance and be ready to be inspired!

Thank you for stopping by, friends!
Until next time, have a lovely weekend!

  1. Very pretty Poppy. Those phlox are perennial here but I've never planted them. Every spring when they are in bloom, I fuss at myself for not having them in the beds. :)

    1. So funny, the first time I saw this post I focused on the phlox. Then on IG I saw the galvanized bucket. May have to make a Target run tomorrow. :)
