Wine Vignette

I love creating vignettes! They are so much fun to play around with. I like visualizing how they will look and which elements I will use to create them. There are so many wonderful vignettes all over blog land done by amazingly creative ladies. One such talented lady is Marty @ A Stroll Thru Life. She has a rare talent of taking everyday objects and making wonderful vignettes all around her beautiful home. Whenever I need inspiration I simply hop over to her home and come away with many wonderful ideas! She even has a linky party every Tuesday where you can show off your vignette of the week. Click the link above for inspiring vignettes:
Victims of my latest vignette:
Bottles I picked up while thrifting this past summer, $1 each:
Fragrant lavender from my summer garden:
Rosemary from my herb garden:
Crystals and glasses around my house:
 Corks from wine bottles:
They all come together to create a cozy vignette on my kitchen counter:

I made this French-inspired tag by decoupaging the image from The Graphics Fairy and then singed the edges with a candle to give it an aged finish:
Close-up on the tag:
I love using rosemary in cooking as well as in decorating. They make excellent accents and add so much visual texture:
While taking these pictures, I discovered a nice little feature in my camera which I never paid much attention to before. By selecting Color Accent feature from the menu, I can take nice shots of white or neutral backgrounds with accent on the boldest color of the subject. Isn't that neat?
I appreciate you stopping by and visiting me. Your loving thoughts always make me smile.
Have a lovely weekend!
Parties I'm attending this week:

  23. Poppy,

I came over after you left such an encouraging comment on my living room redo post and I'm so glad I did. I love your vignette. Last night we did one very similar on our chest in the living room. We hadn't had time to go into arranging things on the table tops yet and I knew I wanted a bar area on the chest. We put out a tray and bottles, but it lacked something. THE CORKS! What a great idea to add some to the area. It gives it an earthy and romantic touch. I love the lavender and rosemary. A couple weeks ago, I bought rosemary bushes to plant because I want some in our new house. They smell so heavenly.

Thank you so much for the inspiration. We are your latest followers. :D

    Sincerely,
