Hello, dear friends!
How is your summer going? It has been a beautiful summer so far, and I have been enjoying the lovely warm days. I can't believe it is August already, and it's almost back to school time. Just got back from our vacation in Cape Cod, and it seems like summer has gone by so quickly!
Today, I thought I will share with you some pictures of a summer tablescape :)
Dining alfresco under the apple trees is a wonderful way to enjoy the balmy days of summer:
A pot of red impatiens sits inside a white lantern and is hung from the branches with a wired burlap ribbon:
Elements of a summer tablescape:
Flavored water in blue mason jars to quench your thirst on a hot summer day:
Ice cubes made with strawberries and blueberries or any other fruit of your choice not only add flavor to the water, but look so colorful as well:
The place setting:
Elements of a casual place setting:
Two layers of dinner napkins in red and white:
I found these adorable berry napkin rings in an outlet store called Anne and Hope in Providence, Rhode Island. Don't they look so pretty with the red napkins?
A closer look of the place setting:
I love the nautical look of these adorable plates.
A rim shot of the plates:
A red soup bowl sits on top of the white salad plate:
Love the black coiled tip fork from Pier 1:
As centerpiece I inserted a pot of pretty blue lobelia inside a Coca Cola crate:
I love lobelia with its delicate and dainty blooms
Cute little blue ceramic birds added as accents
A galvanized bucket full of summer blossoms sits on a bench
Dining alfresco is another wonderful way to enjoy the beautiful days of summer:
Before I sign off today, I will leave you with a few pictures from our vacation at Cape Cod:
The pristine beaches of Cape Cod:
The Pilgrim Monument erected to commemorate the Pilgrims' first landing in America on the Mayflower at Provincetown, Cape Cod:
So, how are you enjoying your summer?
Thanks for stopping by! It is always a pleasure to have you visit me.
Enjoy your weekend!
~Hugs, Poppy~

Oh my goodness...I just adore this table setting and all of the beautiful accents. The burlap, the colors, the details, I am smitten with it all! I hope you enjoyed your time in Cape Cod as well! Happy summer, Poppy! :)
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty post! You just can't beat red and white for alfresco dining.
ReplyDeleteVisiting from Amaze me Monday......
I would love to join you at this very cheerful and inviting alfresco setting. Then lets race to that pretty beach. Ahhhhh, Cape Code!
ReplyDeleteHi there, Poppy! I'm so glad you enjoyed yourself on vacation. It's wonderful to get away for awhile and just BE!!! With summertime winding up before too terribly long, I'm sure it was the getaway you'll need to get through the next several months!
ReplyDeleteYour tablescape is beautiful! I love the colors (because you simply can't do wrong with red, white & blue!), and the ease of the setting is wonderful. I really like those dinner plates. They have kind of a country feel (hence the name of the collection, I suppose...duh!) with a sophisticated twist. Pretty napkin rings, too. Of course, the pretty Mason jar is the crowning touch with those fruity ice cubes. I hadn't considered simply freezing the blueberries in the ice cubes. That would make them be better distributed in the glass and keep them cold longer. Great idea!
The pastoral backdrop to your tablescape is really pretty. It's almost like being in the woods! And that lantern hanging from the tree is a terrific touch! It really adds a lot to the entire setting.
Very, very nice! Thank you for sharing, and have a good week ahead! (Visiting from Christine's Rustic & Refined "Table It!" blog party)
Olá, Poppy querida!
ReplyDeleteQue bom que você voltou!
Estava com saudades das suas postagens tão bonitas e inspiradoras.
Ahhh...que lindo...tudo cheio de luz e capricho!

Well I'm ready to come over and sit down with you at that charming table under the apple trees! I love your red, white and blue color scheme. Those forks are wonderful! I didn't know Pier One sold those. Love the dainty blue flowers too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful set up!! I feel like running straight to the garden to grab a chair for myself. Wonderful choice of colors. I so love it!

What a lovely tablscape for an outdoor dinner! I love how you used blue, red and white, a very happy table. Is that the nordic design on the napkins? It looks a lot like the patterns on mugs I have.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful table looks like the perfect spot to enjoy a summer meal. Everything looks perfect. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteVery pretty and love the hanging lantern.
ReplyDeleteSo lovely...crazy about that lantern!
ReplyDeleteOh, my gosh, I love your table! Those napkin rings are awesome. I want them! I have that same flatware. It's so versatile, isn't it? Everything is so crisp and summery! Lovi it all!
