Hello, dear friends! Happy weekend to all you!
It has been an unusually hot and humid summer for us this year. It rained a little bit overnight, but we really need a downpour! Although I like container gardening, this year I had to keep up with watering the containers instead of depending on mother nature. I'm trying to stay indoors most of the time with the A/C running until the evenings when it cools down a little.
I love container gardening! In a confined space they pack a lot of color and texture. When filled with beautiful summer annuals, they add instant color in any corner of the deck or patio:
I am always on the look out for different ceramic or terracotta pottery, and I have fun planting them with an array of blooms. Here, I stacked these white and blue ceramic pots of different sizes to create a flower tower:
I like the contrast in color between the vibrant pink impatiens and the white ceramic, which has a hint of aqua:
Low-height white glazed pottery filled with a combination of yellow snapdragons, pink verbena, and blue lobelia adorns a corner of my deck:
I love the lacy and delicate look of blue lobelia:
They look so beautiful with the sun shining on the blooms:
The fleur-de-lis makes a pretty garden accent:
Adding accents is the most fun part of decorating, whether indoors or outdoors:
A scrap of cotton fabric with a key design stamped on it becomes a garden tag for the galvanized tub planter:

Oh, I agree with maureen. I think its looking beautiful. Also, considering you look like a planting diva, could you tell me a few plants that'll do good in shade? I love container gardening but I live in a flat. Would be really helpful!

ReplyDeleteI love the French planter you created Poppy! Your pots all look lovely. I really like using blue Lobelia also. This year mine got seedy so fast that I had to cut it off. A lot of it just died out after that. Usually I can get it to come back. I have been wanting to try the transfer method but haven't. Think I really need to take time and do it! Thanks for sharing with SYC.
