It has been an unusually mild winter for us this year. We are so used to getting multiple winter storms at this time of the year that the sight of green grass in my yard has me dreaming of spring:
This old cigar box holds a patch of fake grass found at Michael's:
I love using this cigar box in different vignettes! And the contrast between the green grass and the white create a soothing effect!
Using keys in a vignette creates a timeless, old world feeling:
I found this set at Kirkland's:
The filtering winter sun livens up this dark corner of my foyer:
The toile candle was made by decoupaging the image on it:
After printing the image( found via Internet) on tissue paper(taped to card stock paper), I used Mod Podge to apply the image on the candle:
I sprinkled some glitter while the medium was still wet:
White tulips grace my silver teapot:
Magnificent in their simplicity:
Love the ambiance created by this white toile candle:
Printing the image on tissue paper adds to its luminosity:
Candles add an ethereal quality to any vignette:
Close-up on the candle:
Mixing white with old world charm adds wonderful grace and elegance to tabletop vignettes, don't you think?
Always a pleasure to have you visit me with your loving thoughts! Have a wonderful week ahead!

Hi Poppy, what a lovely vignette. Your tabletop is a breath of spring and I love the cigar box with grass. The white tulips and the white crochet really pop with the green. I love the touch of keys on the table, a perfect finishing touch. I have keys and they got packed away with Christmas decorations. After seeing yours I'll have to try and find mine. Thanks for the inspiration.

Aaaahhh, I can "feel" the promise of spring in your vignette! So pretty! I have a "patch" of that faux grass I bought last year at Michael's and tucked away. Thanks for inspiring me to get that out and "think spring"!

Oh Poppy,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful, Springy vignette. I love every part of it...And I think I'll have to try to make one of those candles. It is just lovely. Thanks for sharing. Have a wonderful evening.

Poppy. Thanks for stopping by The 2 Seasons. I don't know why your comments aren't showing up. I really like your vignette - especially the tulips. We bicycled in the Dutch tulip fields last spring and it was breathtaking. I love the keys, too. Please come back and visit again.
ReplyDeleteThis vignette is really beautiful, Poppy! The white tulips in the silver pitcher with the white doily sure is a pretty touch!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful table, I love all the texture. Love how you used the cigar box! You created a very unique and inspiring vignette.
ReplyDeleteLove your white tulips and the keys in your vignette, Poppy! I've been seeing white tulips on many blogs recently. I enjoy looking at them every time, so I think I'm going to have to pick some real ones to look at for myself!
ReplyDeletePoppy, this is such a pretty vignette! Love how you used the cigar box!! The keys are great!!
ReplyDeleteOh so pretty -- love the keys and that pretty candle!
ReplyDeleteSuch a beautiful vignette! I especially love the idea of printing an image on tissue paper to put on a candle. I have used regular paper before and it kinda "kills" the luminosity of the candle...great idea. I saw your post over at Grits and Glamour.
ReplyDeleteOh what a beautiful vignette. I love it. Love the silver and the tulips, the touch of lace is so pretty too. The keys and grass are a neat touch with the candle. Great display. Thanks tons for joining TTT. Hugs, Marty

ReplyDeleteBeautiful vignette, Poppy. I think J has an old wood cigar box around here someplace. You've given me a couple of ideas.
ReplyDeleteOkay, I love seriously everything about this vignette. You know how you can like almost anything done well, but it's not necessarily your style- like maybe you wouldn't want it in your house? That's not the case for me here. This is TOTALLY my style, and if I had your adorable treasures, they'd be on my mantle right now. SO cute. And I am totally copying your toile candle. I can't get enough toile in my life :) Thanks so much!!!
ReplyDeleteI love those keys!! Very charming idea!
