Spring has finally sprung in this neck of the woods and the fragrant apple blossoms in my yard are blooming and what a spectacular sight it is! We have four apple trees and when they are in full bloom it is truly a sight to behold! I love the month of May. It's that time of the year when you celebrate Mother's day, Memorial Day, and also the arrival of spring with the daffodils and tulips and apple blossoms blooming all around and the birds chirping everywhere. Doesn't it feel wonderful to wake up to the birds singing outside?

So lets celebrate May, shall we?

I love these Hibiscus tea cup and the three-footed teacup I found in an auction house years back. They look so dainty and delicate and perfect for a romantic tea for two. Don't you agree?

  Hello, dear readers, hope everyone had a wonderful Mothers' Day today. A bright and sunny morning  greeted me, with  breakfast in bed from my two lovely daughters (with help from their Daddy,of course). Feels great to be pampered once in a while, doesn't it? I have been soaking up all the sunshine we have been having this weekend, after so many weekends of rain!!Today is the first time this spring we mowed our lawn and I'm super excited about planting all my seedlings outside and planning  my container garden. I've picked up a few colored potteries for my deck and patio and can't wait to get started with them. The nurseries are now bursting with colors of every hue and picking out the flowers to go with my containers is the most fun part..


My sister hosted the Mother's Day Brunch this year and I would love to share her table with you, today. Everything looks so bright and cheerful.... DAISIES, BUTTERFLIES, sunny YELLOW.... perfect for this special spring day, don't you agree?

It has been a splendid day today spending time with my family and I hope it has been special for you as well.

Inspirational Muses

Ever since I started blogging I've met so many creative and talented fellow bloggers that I wonder sometimes what I was doing before I was blogging! There are so many inspirational people out there that it just amazes me! My inspiration for today is Judy at DIY by Design

  I admire her creative skill in taking simple ordinary things and turning them into something extraordinary in simple, quick and easy steps! You can click HERE to view one such project that inspired me to do my post for today.

               

Inspirational Muse!

I was lucky enough to find these upholstery fabric sample squares at our local fabric store. They were Red Tagged pieces that were further marked down to half off the clearance price! So I got four sample squares for $1 each. I got some trims to co-ordinate with each pillow and I was ready to tackle my weekend project!

I sewed the trim to the right side of each fabric square

Then I sewed the other two coordinating fabric squares to the above pieces, right sides together.

 Inserted the pillow form and slip-stitched the top of each.

Voila!

It seems like it has been raining forever! It shows no sign of stopping. I miss bright sunny days...
