An Autumn Vignette

Hello, everybody! It's the beginning of another autumn week, and I hope everyone had a fabulous weekend. I have been  busy "falliying" my home lately :)

An autumnal home in color sketch.

I don't know about you, but for me the holiday season starts from October.

For the next three months, I can deck the halls and rooms in holiday colors and have so much fun with it!

From Halloween till Christmas, it's a celebration of seasons in my home:

It's the small touches that makes a house a home:

Sprigs of hydrangeas and twigs of burning bush and maple leaves from my yard grace a willow basket, a recent acquisition from Walmart.

I love creating vignettes in trays.

They are so versatile and make playing with different home accents so much fun:

A cute pumpkin from Home Goods adds a lovely accent

The ornamental fretwork on the pumpkin reminds me so much of cut-work lace.

It pairs beautifully with the orange ceramic pumpkin and acorn squash from my garden.

The trio of beige candles bring height and color to the vignette.

The candles are adorned with maple leaf tags from Jo-Ann craft store and tied in jute twines.

I added some sprigs of burning bush for added fall color and embellishments to the candles.

I love how I can bend the wire stems to create little curlicue :)

Candle magic at night

I love adding greenery to any vignette for color, contrast, and texture.

An array of pillows in autumnal hues bring instant color to any room decor

An antique stoneware crock pot overflowing with fern graces a corner of my great room.

Thanks for visiting me today and for all your sweet thoughts and comments. I hope you enjoyed catching glimpses of autumn in my great room:

And my heartfelt appreciation to these beautiful ladies for showcasing my Autumnal Tablescape and Fall Luminaries in their wonderful linky parties. I absolutely love joining their parties each week for a multitude of inspiring projects and share my own projects :) Stop by, if you get a chance, and I promise you won't be disappointed

Thank you, ladies! You make my heart smile:)

A Simple Autumn Tablescape

"September is like no other
It's days change color and weather
No other month can say quite the same
For every day, I can feel the change" ~
Jessica Millsaps

"It's cool breezes start out warm,
Changing to cold throughout every storm
The leaves change and fall
As the summer leaves and autumn kisses us all"

~Jessica Millsaps

"September maidens feel the change
Like the blue of the sky
Yet the color so deep
Unbelievable beauty" ~
Jessica Millsaps

"In autumn when the trees are brown
The little leaves come tumbling down
They do not make the slightest sound
But lie so quietly on the ground
Until the wind comes puffing by
And blows them off towards the sky."

"As we watch the summer days depart
And the painted leaves in silence fall,"

Hattie L. Knapp.

"Our garden seems a dreary place,
no brilliant flowers its borders grace,
save in a sheltered nook apart,
where gay beneath the autumn sun
 blooms our own chrysanthemum"
Hattie L. Knapp.

Gold among the brown

Leaves of rust and scarlet
Trembling slowly down
Birds that travel southward
Lovely time to play
Nothing is as pleasant
As an autumn day!

I had so much fun setting up this simple autumnal tablescape in my backyard under the canopy of apple trees.

Elements of a table setting

The vintage silver pitcher is a thrift store find:

The burlap leaf tag found at the craft store adds a touch of rustic fall:

For napkins, I used fingertip towels

The burlap flower napkin ring from Hobby Lobby complements

so prettily with the leaf tag.

Amber tumblers from the Dollar Store for chilled water.

A white cake plate makes the perfect serveware for oranges.

Vines and ribbon tied around the bottom of the cake plate add wonderful fall accents.

The place setting:

Simple white dinner plate:

Accompanies a salad plate that reflects autumnal browns

Topped with a pumpkin-shaped soup bowl

When brought together each element of a table setting harmonizes each other so prettily

I love doing tablescapes and playing with my dishes! They are always so much fun, and I hope I have inspired you to play as well!

Thanks for stopping by!
Have a beautiful Sunday, everyone!
